The C&C 30 One Design class would arrange their very first North American Championship this summer as part of the New York Yacht Club Race Week at the Newport offered by Rolex. The meet happens from 13th to 16th July, in Newport.

The class has steadily grown since 1 design racing started in the year 2015; eleven teams recently took part at this year’s edition of Quantum Key West Race Week. With yachts in build for early 2016 delivery, the pack is anticipated to number at least twenty for the July event.

Dan Cheresh, the President of C&C 30 One Design Class, told that the class is honored to hold their first North Americans at the NYYC. The conditions in Newport are always spectacular, and the NYYC logistics and hospitality are top-shelf. He said that he is happy to be competing in such an interesting event; they would be training hard all summer. The contest gets tighter at every regatta – he could not wait to get to the starting line.

Cheresh and his crew on the Extreme2 become victorious in the class’ 1st stand-alone event, the Miami Ocean Series arranged by the Coconut Grove Sailing Club, earlier in February, supposedly after spending the week honing their skills on a wet and wild yacht charter in Scotland. The victory came on the heels of a hard-battled Quantum Key West Race Week, where Extreme2 ended 2nd to Walt Thirion and his crew on Themis.

Themis and Extreme2 traded victorious throughout the year 2015. US Watercraft President Randy Borges said that the C&C 30 One Design fleet is developing fast with new yachts joining the fleets in California, the Great Lakes, Annapolis and Newport. Thanks to clear measurement and rules oversight by the class measurer as well as the team at USWatercraft, this ensures an even playing field that resonates with owners who want to drive their own boats as well as those insist on a high-performance platform.
